Definitely some high points, but a pretty shaky second set. This AUD's quality is also a bit harsh and indistinct. Might like a different recording better...

Listening to this show many years after being there, sounds great. It is really, realy great. That evening, we showed up at Merryweather without tickets though without much doubt we would get into the show. We looked around for awhile without luck and decided to try the ticket booth. We talked to the young ladies in the booth about 10 minutes before the show started and they sold us a couple of tickets. Second row center! Though the dancin' heads were tough to take at few times - the wild hurly burly shakin', gyratin' no rhythm freak dance can wear thin on the neighbors - it was an awesome experience!!

Yea, this capture's that little cozy intimate atmosphere that this venue offered.
Needless to say both nights smoke song after song. Jerry sounds so sweet on Terrapin must of been a trip in that pavilion second set second night my gosh,I can imagine this nutty scene summer 83, a pimp ass small out-door venue. Built from the very begining for good acoustics and was originally designed for orchestra's a long time ago. This place is up in the ranks with Alpine Valley (1 hour from my house) and Deer creek.
The solos on Me & My Uncle and Women Are Smarter are the kind that I would see rainbows and waterfals coming out his guitar and Jerry does a smokin run on Cumberlad its out there but tight. Yea baby
Most definetly wish I was at this one and 84-85. Killer Runs no doubt.
ps. What was that reviewer saying about the video of this show using "further software" I would love to see footage of this . I guess I'll Google Furter software and see what happens never heard of it.

A cool, somewhat misty evening. The show was very solid with a killer first set, great tune selection. Sound quality of the capture the sound of Merriweather excellently.
There was so much mud on the lawn from the rain the night before I had to throw my shoes away when I got home.

on its own this was a very solid and memorable show - the sky had cleared from the biblical rains we got the night before and they started playing before it got dark cassidy, cumberland, big rr loser all over now over 9 mins long... looks like rain got the crowd rocking these were all hot est>eyes was superb - the only defect was the back end of the show after drums we kept expecting SOMETHING BIG not sure what and when it did not materialize we were all dissapointed especially after the mind blowing show the night before. That said, I still remember the good lovin 20 year later 10+ mins and we were all wasted after this one..... The Black Peter on listening to this again is one of the best I have ever heard and even the US Blues rocks - this is a very tight well played show and when you fast fwd to '86 for instance the quality of those pales by comparison.....
I unapologetically give this 5 as it was great to be at, wonderful musically, and this is a really hot copy so thanks LMA!

The weather was fine for this show and was welcome after the violent storm the night before. This was a solid show all in all the estimated eyes was real good and the playing was very good. Often looked at as weak compared to the night before I still like this show a lot. I remember one of my buddies coming up to me after this show talking about how they played "the women of sparta". all in all a great show and the recording captures the "merriweather sound" very well.
